Dedications: Dave Schick

David Schick was born May 17, 1967, in Roseburg, Oregon, to Charles and Beverly Schick. He grew up in Pasco with four older sisters — Ronda, Renae, Carla, and Caren.

He attended Emerson Elementary from kindergarten through fourth grade, and Mark Twain Elementary for fifth and sixth grade. He spent his middle school years at the old McLoughlin Jr. High School, then attended Pasco High School, graduating in 1986.

While in high school, David was the student manager for the football, basketball, baseball, and track teams. After high school, he served a two-year LDS mission in Utah, then returned to Pasco, where he was the long-time equipment manager for Pasco athletics and a job coach.

In 1999, David and his late wife Nina Lindsey Schick moved to Utah, but in 2008, David felt it was time to move back home.

Today, David is still involved in Pasco athletics. He can be found in the press box on Friday nights at Edgar Brown Stadium, where he will be entering his 14th year as the clock operator for Pasco High football. For 14 years he has been the statistician for Chiawana High School boys and girls basketball, and clock operator for the Chiawana Wrestling team, and has been the voice of Pasco High baseball for close to 20 years.

He is the first one to greet the coaches and athletes as he hands out the coaches’ packets on Friday and monitors the athletes’ gate.

David “bleeds purple and sees blue” for Pasco Pride.
