
The Pasco Invitational Hall of Fame welcomes one of the most celebrated Washington state female high school track and field athletes ever. Ellie Heiden, the former Kamiakin high school dual sport athlete, competed for the Braves from 2011-2014 and left her mark on winning races and titles. Ellie won 12 state track and field titles during her time at Kamiakin as her illustrious high school career saw her become a 4-time Washington State Track and Field MVP. In addition to this, Ellie was a three-time All-State soccer player and a three-time Female Athlete of the Year. She has been celebrated as one of the great athletes out of track powerhouse Kamiakin, who has a tradition of producing outstanding female athletes. In 2013, her junior year, she became the first athlete of either gender to capture all three sprints in the state’s large school meet in nearly a decade.
Early last decade, high school track was greatly impacted by Eillie’s presence as she would go on to win numerous dual-meet, invitational, conference and Pasco Invite titles in the 100M, 200M, 400M, 4x100M, 4x200M, and 4x400M Relays. Ellie holds Kamiakin school records in the 200M (24.60), 400M (54.15), 4x100M Relay (47.84 - with Schauble, Toure and Brannan), 4x200M Relay (1:40.96 – with Schauble, Donais and Brannan). She is also third on the school record list in the 100M (12.12) and Long Jump (17’4 ½”).
Kamiakin Head Track Coach Cheryl Schauble has said, “Ellie was an impact for our team the moment she walked on the track. She had the most effortless stride and endless energy. Always had a goal in mind for every meet and was a leader of our team from day one. She was and is a beautiful person inside and out.”
Ellie would go on to run collegiately for BYU in 2015, and 2018 through 2020. Ellie’s marks in her events are remarkable and her all-time best are as follows: (Indoor) 60 Meters (7.83), (Indoor) 300 Meters (40.77), Outdoor 200 Meters (23.71), and Outdoor 400 Meters (54.49). At BYU, she was a member of 4x100M and 4x400M Relay teams that ran 44.95 (Robison Invite) and 3:36.82 (NCAA Prelims) respectively.
Ellie is married and is personal fitness trainer currently residing in Houston, Texas.
